Louise Clapton

Trustee

Louise is the Community Development Officer at Dorothy House Hospice, which serves the population of Bath & North East Somerset, North & West Wiltshire and East Mendip. She has been part of the Dorothy House family for 14 years but volunteered for a few years before joining as a member of staff.

Louise is part of the Business and Development Programme Team with a focus on guiding the organisation to work with an Asset Based Community Development approach to support our patients, carers, families and the wider community.  Taking the time to discover and work alongside ‘what’s strong’ in communities and not looking for ‘what’s wrong’ builds sustainable and resilient communities.

Dorothy House’s Hospice at Home service is much loved by their community and highly regarded by Healthcare Professionals. The hospice has adapted the national care certificate to include end of life care. The Tulip Standard Essentials of Care certificate has been developed specifically to focus on those delivering care to palliative and end of life patients, their families and carers and all 60 of the Hospice at Home team have participated in this training.

Louise is an Associate Trustee for the National Association of Hospice at Home and supports Trustees with specific projects.
