Lyndsay Cardwell

Trustee

Lyndsay is an experienced palliative care nurse, who has worked in various palliative care settings both here in the UK and in Australia.  She has led community palliative care services and also held education and research posts.  Currently she is the Community Lead at Strathcarron Hospice in Stirlingshire, leading the community specialist palliative care services which support people and their families across Forth Valley, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth.

Lyndsay is passionate about education and research, and completed her Masters in Palliative Care at Flinders University, Adelaide, Australia.  She is a PhD candidate at Lancaster University and has recently submitted her PhD thesis which focused on the experiences of home care workers who deliver care to people at home with palliative and end of life care needs.  As a result of the support she has received throughout her own career, Lyndsay values the opportunity to champion and mentor others who wish to undertake education whilst also working in clinical roles.

Lyndsay is dedicated to developing and delivering high-quality person-centred hospice services in the community, to ensure people can access the support they need, when they need it.
